Vegan Pizza Recipes For Pizza Lovers

Is pizza your favourite dish but you can’t have it because you are vegan? Well with these recipes, you don’t have to give up your favourite dish and can satisfy your pizza cravings with ease.

  1.  Vegan Pesto Pizza

  1. To make the vegan Parmesan cheese, in a food processor, combine the cashews, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  2. Mix until the texture is crumbly and resembles Parmesan cheese. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month
  3. To make the pesto, in a food processor, combine the basil, arugula, walnuts, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Process until smooth
  4. You can store this mixture in an airtight container for up to 1 week
  5. Preheat the oven to 220°C
  6. Use your hands to stretch the pizza dough into a circle about 14 inches (35 cm) in diameter and ½-inch (1 ¼ cm) thick. Lay the dough on a sheet of parchment paper
  7. Spread half of the pesto over the pizza dough in an even layer
  8. Arrange the tomato slices on top and transfer the pizza on the parchment to a baking tray
  9. Bake for 14-16 minutes, until the edges of the pizza, get a slight golden tinge. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes
  10. Drizzle more pesto over the pizza and top it with some vegan Parmesan. Cut into 8 slices and serve

2.  Vegan BBQ Jackfruit Pizza

Ingredients:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F(200°C) and line a baking tray with a parchment paper
  2. Heat the olive oil in a medium pot over medium heat
  3. Once the oil begins to shimmer, add the yellow onion and cook for 4-5 minutes or until semi-translucent
  4. Now, add the garlic and cook for another 2-3 minutes
  5. To this, add the jackfruit, salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, cumin, liquid smoke and stir until the jackfruit is well coated in the spices
  6. Add the vegetable broth, cover, and cook for 15 minutes or until the jackfruit is tender enough to be mashed
  7. Mash the jackfruit until it is mostly broken apart and stringy
  8. Transfer to a baking tray and spread in an even layer. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned
  9. Use your hands to stretch the pizza dough into a circle about 14 inches (35 cm) in diameter and ½-inch (1 ¼cm) thick
  10. Now, lay the dough on a sheet of parchment paper
  11. Remove the jackfruit from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C)
  12. Pour ½ cup (145 g) of vegan barbeque sauce over the jackfruit, then toss to ensure an even coating
  13. Spread the remaining ¼ cup barbeque sauce over the pizza dough in an even layer and top with the jackfruit and red onion
  14. Enjoy!
