Keep more than just the flu at bay with a warm concoction of ginger, pepper, lemon and turmeric tea.

3. Detoxification

Think only fruits and vegetables are good for detox? When the liver is supported through the use of turmeric, it helps to detox. The turmeric helps support the body’s natural method of eliminating metabolic wastes as well as the onslaught of chemicals we are exposed to in our air, water, soil, and food.

4. Prevents Blood Clots

Blood clots are undesirable since they disrupt the flow of blood among the healthy vessels paving the way to various heart problems. Blood clots form through a process called platelet aggregation where blood platelets concentrate in one area and eventually clot. The curcumin in the turmeric greatly reduces platelet aggregation and the risk of developing blood clots.

5. Aids Digestion

This yellow spice does more than just adding an earthy flavour to your food. Turmeric stimulates the gallbladder to produce bile, which in turn helps in breaking down and digesting the food. It is also known to reduce symptoms of bloating and gas.
