Bakri Eid Special Recipes To Feast on This Year

  1. Tandoori Lamb Chops

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Using a paring knife, cut a few 1/4-inch-deep slashes in each lamb chop
  2. Now, in a large bowl, whisk the yoghurt with the heavy cream, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, malt vinegar, garam masala, cumin, paprika, cayenne, mace, nutmeg and 1teaspoon of salt
  3.  Transfer the lamb chops to the marinade and turn to coat, then cover and refrigerate overnight
  4. Add the oil to the marinade and toss with the lamb chops
  5. Now, remove the chops from the marinade and let stand at room temperature for 30minutes
  6. Light a grill. Season the chops with salt and grill over moderately high heat for 8minutes, turning once, until well browned
  7. Brush both sides of the chops with the melted butter and grill for another 2 minutes per side for medium-rare
  8. Serve with mint chutney or a side salad and feast!

2. Shahi Mutton Gravy

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Start by blending 1 medium or large onion and almonds in a food processor until they turn into a paste
  2. Now, clean and wash mutton thoroughly and marinate the meat with salt, coriander powder, chilly red powder, ginger garlic paste, yoghurt and the grounded paste of onion and almonds, mix well, keep aside for 2 – 3 hours
  3. In a bowl, add milk and soak saffron for a while and set it aside
  4. In a non-stick pan or kadhai add ghee and onions, saute until golden brown
  5. Add marinated mutton and chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies cook until the masala has dried up and then add 2 cups of water, cover the lid and cook meat on low flame for about 25 – 30 minutes until the lamb is partially done
  6. Now, add pepper powder, garam masala and soaked saffron with milk, mix everything well and adjust salt if needed
  7.  Cover and cook it on a low flame until the mutton is completely done. Make sure to keep on stirring in between to ensure from sticking at the bottom of the pan
  8. Beat fresh cream in a bowl and pour it on the gravy, mix well and simmer for 10 minutes
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve shahi mutton with hot parathas or plain wheat roti along with raw fresh salad platter.
