Quick and Healthy Recipes to Kick Start Your Day

What better way to start your day than with some delicious breakfast? When you’re in a hurry you don’t necessarily get time to make breakfast, you usually tend to skip it. Read on to kickstart your day with these recipes so that you don’t miss out on your first (and the most delicious) meal of the day.

  1. Tomato Toast With Macadamia



1. In an upright high speed blender, add the drained and rinsed macadamia nuts, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, salt and water

2. Now, blend on high speed for a minute and add some water

3. Make sure you achieve a fluffy creamy consistency

4. Now transfer the ricotta to a bowl and cover with cling wrap and refrigerate until ready to use

5. Top the toasted bread with macadamia ricotta and sliced tomatoes with a few pinches of salt

6. Cut the crunchy toast in half and serve with your favourite dip.

2. Oats Dosa

With just simple ingredients oats are something you can easily whip! From classic oatmeals to various Indian options you have it all. Read on to start your day with some delicious oats dosa.


  • ½ cup quick cooking oats
  • ¼ cup rice flour
  • ½ cup of rava
  • ½ cupfresh curd
  • ¼ cup of finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped green chilies
  • 1 to 5 tsp. coriander leaves
  • 7 to 8 curry leaves
  • ½ tsp, cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper powder
  • Salt as required
  • Oil or ghee to shallow fry


1. In a mixer grinder, add the oats and grind them into a fine flour

2. Now, add the rice flour, and semolina along with fresh curd

3. To make it into the right consistency, add some water if needed

4. Now, mix it well make sure there are absolute no lumps

5. To this mix, add ginger, onion, green chilies, coriander, and curry leaves

6. Now, stir well and then add the cumin seeds, black pepper and salt as required

7. Stir the mixture again and keep aside for 10 minutes

8. Now, check the consistency and add ¼ cup of water as required

9. The consistency should be thin just like a dosa batter

10. Now, heat a pan on a medium flame and add some ghee or oil

11. With the help of a ladle, scoop the batter onto the pan and spread it to form a circular dosa

12. Once the base becomes crisp, flip and cooks on the other side

13. Serve it on a plate and enjoy it hot and crispy!

3. Veggie Frittata Muffins


  • 8 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ¼ tsp. Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 to 4 tbsp. chopped fresh dill
  • 2 small kale leaves
  • 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
  • ½ cup scallions
  • 1/3 cup of crumbled feta

Instructions: Start by preheating the oven to 350 degreesCelsius and brush a non-stick muffin pan with olive oil or cooking spray

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, almond milk, garlic and mustard

Now, pour the egg mixture into the bottom of each muffin cup

Divide the kale, tomatoes, scallions and feta into each cup and pour the mixture on top

Allow it to bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the eggs are set.

4. Butternut Squash Breakfast Hash


  • 2 tbsp.avocado oil
  • 2 cups cubed butternut squash
  • ½ an onion, chopped
  • 6 pre-cooked turkey sausage
  • ½ tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. fresh thyme
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add some avocado oil
  2. When the oil is fragrant, add the butternut squash and saute for 5 to 10 minutes
  3. Now, add the onion and cook for an additional 5 minutes
  4. Stir in the sausage, garlic and thyme and allow it to cook for 5-6 minutes
  5. Create four divots in your squash hash with a spoon and crack an egg in each cup
  6. You can bake the eggs or cook for 15-20 minutes
  7. Now, remove from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
